From LCA to a published EPD
Defining the PCR → Commercial use and market access

Defining the PCR
Selecting and applying the Product Category Rules (PCR) that set the methodology and the specific requirements for the product category.

Developing the LCA
Collecting and structuring data, modelling the Life Cycle Assessment and producing the technical documentation under the PCR.

Independent verification
Review of the LCA and the declaration by an accredited verification body to confirm compliance with the standards and the PCR.

Publishing the EPD
Registration and publication of the Environmental Product Declaration by an authorised Program Operator (The International EPD System, EPD Hub, UL Solutions or Environdec, among others).

Commercial use and market access
The EPD is used to support commercial processes, tenders, technical specifications, building certifications and access to markets that require verifiable environmental information.
